This Sauvignon Blanc from the Collio Goriziano region of northeastern Italy is a great break from what is usually found in this varietal. Instead of a blast of citrus, lemon zest or lime this beauty is soft, lower in acidity and has flavors of peach and pear. Its nose is somewhat neutral. The minerality comes through, but the fruit is muted. The palate is fairly intense, however with flavors of pear, peach and very light citrus. It has a long, lingering finish.
